Anyone can stand on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and see the splendor and beauty of the place and pretty much everyone does. Those that want a deeper experience of the Canyon are going to crave a more close up adventure. They should consider one of the following options when they are planning their vacation.

Some rafting tours of the Colorado go through the Canyon. This combines the excitement of river rafting with amazing views of the mile high Canyon walls.

Setting up camp in the Canyon and then exploring the area on foot appeals to many hikers. Some will hike around the rim of the Canyon while others hike along the bottom. Still others will go down the Canyon and up the other side.

Anyone who loves the air should consider choosing one of the Grand Canyon helicopter tours or signing up for an airplane tour. These tours may be a bit more expensive, but they allow for unique aerial views of the Canyon that can’t been seen any other way.

Whichever adventure is chosen, those willing to go off the beaten path will experience a different perspective of the Canyon and its ecosystem than those who are content to stand around the rim for an hour and then drive away.

A visit to Chicago is on the wish lists of lots of travelers. The Windy City has so much to offer that even a Go Chicago Card used to the maximum will only scratch the surface. Over 45 million people visit Chicago every year, spending nearly $12 billion on attractions, lodgings, dining, shopping, and entertainment.

Chicago is known for its architecture. Skyscrapers dominate the skyline, with the two tallest buildings in the US, Willis Tower and Trump International Hotel and Tower. The city is also home to dance, symphony, and opera companies.

Other attractions include the city’s blues and jazz clubs and festivals , incredible parks and museums, and endless shopping and dining experiences. The city has attracted many of the world’s top chefs and is the home to both Chicago pizza and Chicago-style hot dogs.

Maui is All About the Outdoors

The islands of Hawaii are meant to be explored and experienced in the fresh air and sun. There’s little point in traveling to Maui and staying inside all day. If you do, you’ll miss the natural beauty and perfect climate that are the island’s most attractive features. Get out of that hotel room and discover all the wonderful things that make Maui one of the jewels of Hawaii.

Any trip to Maui should start and end with the ocean. Surfing, scuba diving, para-sailing, and windsurfing are all popular activities. Take a whale watching trip or a moonlight cruise for a different view of the waters around the island. Or just lay on the beach all day and imagine you don’t ever have to go home.

Make sure to spend time exploring the interior of the island too. Maui has some breathtaking mountain views, beautiful parks and jungle-like forests. Check out maui bike rentals or borrow a horse to wind through some of the back trails in parks and nature preserves which are sprinkled all over the island. You can hike around volcanic craters, camp in tropical forests or get a bird’s eye view by taking a helicopter tour.

Whatever you choose to do, just make sure it’s outside. If you’re not enjoying the warm temperatures, sunny skies, and incredible natural wonders of the island, you might as well take a vacation to Buffalo where staying inside all winter makes sense.
