Into the Body by Leaving the Body: Meditation
The nature of almost any spiritual quest is that it will contain paradoxes. One of the ways to know for certain that one is on a path is the existence of these paradoxes, because they tend to make themselves rather conspicuous. One has to sometimes go into a state of mindlessness in order to learn how to really use their head, and the same can be said for the body. For those who have never explored meditation, this can sound like a bit of a nervous proposition. Those who are familiar with Transcendental Meditation , or have a knowledge of Sahaja Meditation’s health benefits will probably see this prospect as perfectly reasonable.
The sensation of leaving the physical body for the astral body is somewhat frightening, at least the first time. It’s a difficult thing to do, because that fear that comes when one is about to enter into another state of consciousness is what prevents a full entrance into that very state. With time and practice, it becomes almost second-nature. There are many enormous benefits to this practice, because it teaches perfect detachment. Emotions, longings, and even health problems are left behind temporarily, so that one is free to observe their own consciousness as it begins to grow, and expand.
